Breeding
KWPN Royal Dutch Sport Horse
We started breeding with two mares by the stallion Pretendent (Le Faquin x Duc de Normandie) who has played a key role in the Dutch breeding of dressage horses. These mares were the ster and preferent mare Votti (reserve champion of the KWPN 3 year old mares) and the keur and preferent mare Vuzelma. Both came from outstanding bloodlines. Because the KWPN had decided to specialise in breeding sporthorses for either dressage or showjumping we used the outstanding dressage stallion Cabochon (by Vincent) and the world-famous stallion G.Ramiro Z (by B.Raimond). Out of the combination of our ster mare Huzelma (Apollonios xx x Vuzelma) and Cabochon came the mare Luzelma Slottie. The keur and sport mare Luzelma Slottie proved to be a top class dressage horse and became Grand Prix dressage with Christa Larmoyeur and was then sold to the American young rider Lara Schleining-Powers.

The ster mare Belzelma (G.Ramiro Z x Vuzelma) was covered by Goodtimes (Nimmerdor x Caletto 1) and this produced the ster and sport mare Kelzelma. This superb mare was sold to the stable of Fred Welch in Britain and became Grand Prix showjumping. Kelzelma was then sold to Brasil where she remained active in the showjumping arena until she was retired and used as a breeding mare.
For us as breeders the challenge remains to produce sport horses which have the natural ability and temperament to become topclass dressage or showjumping horses. And yet a new challenge was added. With the mare Zara Slottie (Roven xx x Gran Corrado) we entered the eventing arena. In 2011 she became 7th in the CIC2* of Breda and had a good performance in the tough world championships for young event horses at Le Lion d’Angers. She had a great career with rider Annemiek Wieken and performed at CIC3* level. She has now been retired and will be a breeding mare.

A pillar of our dressage breeding is the keur preferent mare On Time Slottie (Jazz x Ahorn). This beautiful mare with her fabulous movements has proven to be a top class breeding mare. As a 3 year old she was selected for the National mare inspection and as a 4 year old she was selected for the finals of the prestigious PAVO cup. Her first foal was by Rousseau and this gelding called Anthony Slottie excelled in the dressage arena with Marjolijn van Daalen. Daughter Classic Slottie (by Lingh) became keur and performed at Z-level. She now has a foal by Ferdeaux (Bordeaux x Ferro).

Daunter Slottie at the Stallion Show in 2011
Her half-brother Daunter Slottie (by Uphill) was a real eye catcher at the 2011 KWPN Stallion Show in ‘s Hertogenbosch with his spectacular trot (watch the video). He competes at Z-level. His brother England Slottie also excels in his movements and had a great performance in the finals of the PAVO cup in 2013. He was sold to Russia and was declared the most talented young dressagehorse of the Russian Federation in 2015. After England Slottie On Time had a filly, Fairmaid Slottie (by Ampere). This mare became keur at the KWPN show in Friesland. Then followed the mare Irish Slottie (by Florencio) and her last foal, Lightfoot Slottie, was by the stallion Eyecatcher (Vivaldi x T.C.N. Partout). This 2 year old stallion is a joy to watch and with his pedigree his strong movements are no surprise. Irish Slottie brought this year a foal by the amazing stallion Franklin (Ampere x Ferro).

Another pillar of our breeding was the full sister to Luzelma Slottie, Wuzelma Slottie (Cabochon x Apollonios xx). One of her promising offspring is the mare Duzelma Slottie by Westpoint (Jazz x Michelangelo). This horse was sold and then trained by Christa Larmoyeur before going to a new owner in South Africa. The mare Fuzelma Slottie by Scandic out of Wuzelma is a lookalike of her father and shows an exceptional quality in her movements. She was sold to Sweden. In 2012 Wuzelma had a foal called Highflyer Slottie by Charmeur (Florencio x Jazz). He showed all the qualities of a very fine dressage horse and was sold to Britain. In 2013 Wuzelma had another foal by Apache (UB40 x Krack C). This horse, Ivor Slottie, was trained to a very high level by Emmelie Scholtens and was sold last year to the United States.
In our breeding of showjumpers the sport mare Ottoline Slottie (Peter Pan x Goodtimes) has a special place. With rider Gert van den Hof she was very successful in the international 1.45 showjumping until we decided to breed again with her.

Her first foal was a mare by Gran Corrado (Grannus x Corrado 1) who brought us Zara Slottie (by Roven xx).

Her daughter, the ster mare Chariot Slottie (by Lucky Boy), has shown a lot of potential in the showjumping arena with rider Herman Koorman and performed at 1.25 level before being sold to Sweden. In 2015 Chariot had a filly by Etoulon VDL (Toulon x Calvados). This mare, Kate Slottie, is definitely a promise for the future. Chariot's half sister, the ster mare Diligent Slottie (by Tampa), has a magnificent pedigree and in 2013 she brought us a beautiful filly by the thoroughbred Hopalong Cassidy xx (Strong Statement xx x Glacial xx). This mare called Invincible Slottie was sold to Belgium and will be trained for eventing.
